Previous discussion... /issued 308 am CDT Wednesday may 23 2012/

Discussion...
an unseasonably warm and windy day is expected across eastern
Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas today as an area of low pressure
currently over eastern Colorado moves to the east and intensifies.
Wind gusts should remain below Wind Advisory criteria (40 mph) today
but it could be close across portions of northeast Oklahoma. Will not
issue an advisory at this time but the day shift will monitor and issue
one if necessary.

Thursday will be another unseasonably warm day even as cloud cover increases
across the area. The surface low will drag a frontal boundary to our doorstep
on Thursday before it moves back north as a warm front on Friday.

The Holiday weekend will be marked by warm temperatures and humid
conditions with dew points generally in the 60s. The highly amplified
upper level pattern that will be in place over the weekend with a trough
over the west and a high pressure ridge to the east will begin to breakdown
on Monday as the upper level flow flattens out. This will allow a frontal
boundary to move into the region on Tuesday bringing a slight chance of
showers and thunderstorms to the region.
