NWS Forecaster Discussion
Area forecast discussion National Weather Service Tulsa OK 553 am CDT Wednesday may 23 2012 Aviation... concerning taf sites ktul/krvs/kbvo/kmlc/kxna/kfyv/kfsm. VFR conditions expected the next 24 hours. South winds will increase this morning and become gusty...with a few gusts around 35 to 40 miles per hour for the eastern OK taf sites. && Previous discussion... /issued 308 am CDT Wednesday may 23 2012/ Discussion... an unseasonably warm and windy day is expected across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas today as an area of low pressure currently over eastern Colorado moves to the east and intensifies. Wind gusts should remain below Wind Advisory criteria (40 mph) today but it could be close across portions of northeast Oklahoma. Will not issue an advisory at this time but the day shift will monitor and issue one if necessary. Thursday will be another unseasonably warm day even as cloud cover increases across the area. The surface low will drag a frontal boundary to our doorstep on Thursday before it moves back north as a warm front on Friday. The Holiday weekend will be marked by warm temperatures and humid conditions with dew points generally in the 60s. The highly amplified upper level pattern that will be in place over the weekend with a trough over the west and a high pressure ridge to the east will begin to breakdown on Monday as the upper level flow flattens out. This will allow a frontal boundary to move into the region on Tuesday bringing a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms to the region. && Preliminary point temps/pops... tul 90 70 87 71 / 10 10 10 10 fsm 90 67 89 68 / 0 10 10 10 mlc 89 71 85 71 / 0 10 0 10 bvo 90 68 87 69 / 10 10 10 10 fyv 85 64 85 66 / 0 10 10 10 byv 86 64 87 67 / 0 10 10 10 mko 88 67 87 69 / 0 10 10 10 Mio 89 68 85 69 / 10 10 10 10 f10 89 69 86 70 / 0 10 0 10 hhw 89 68 87 71 / 0 10 0 10 && Tsa watches/warnings/advisories...
