 Wind Advisory  Statement as of 2:35 am MDT on March 31, 2015

... Wind Advisory in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to 9 PM MDT
this evening...

The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to 9 PM
MDT this evening for the upper Treasure valley... western Magic
Valley... southwest Idaho Highlands... and southern Twin Falls

* Winds... west or northwest 30 to 40 mph with gusts 40 to 50 mph.
Strongest winds will be in the Snake River basin from Mountain
Home through the Magic Valley.

* Timing... this afternoon and early evening following passage of a
cold front. The cold front will move through western Idaho
around noon and south-central Idaho in the early afternoon.

* Impacts... travel hazard for high-profile vehicles especially on
north-south roadways. Blowing dust will locally reduce
visibility. Small branches may be blown down.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of at least 30 mph...
or gusts of at least 45 mph are expected. Winds this strong can
make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles.
Use extra caution.

A record high temperature of 65 degrees was set at McCall ID
yesterday. This ties the old record of 65 set in 1994.
