 High Wind Watch  Statement as of 2:29 PM PST on November 20, 2009


... High wind watch in effect from Saturday afternoon through late
Saturday night for the north and central Oregon coast...

The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a high wind
watch... which is in effect from Saturday afternoon through late
Saturday night.

Strong winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 60 mph may develop on
the coast as early as late Saturday morning as a strong warm front
approaches... but high winds are more likely Saturday afternoon and
Saturday evening.

Depending on the track and eventual strength of this storm... high
winds may continue through Saturday night as the associated low pressure
moves through.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high wind watch means there is the potential for a hazardous
high wind event. Sustained winds of at least 40 mph... or gusts of
58 mph or stronger may occur. Continue to monitor the latest
forecasts.
