The record warmest maximum temperature for may 18 at Wichita Falls
was 98 degrees... which was set back in 1967. Yesterday at Sheppard
Air Force base... the high temperature was 101 degrees... which had
broken the record for that date.

Discussion... 
temperatures were adjusted to better recognize the contrasts in 
the 3 airmasses. The front is moving into northwest Oklahoma and 
is expected to keep temperatures a little lower in the northwest 
few counties. The gradient across the dryline was increased as 
well for later this afternoon. Models indicated the dryline will 
advance to a position between U.S. 81 and west of Oklahoma City in 
central Oklahoma late this afternoon. Expectations for 
severe thunderstorms remain unchanged from earlier.
